This lacy, leafy shawl was inspired by my mother’s garden. It’s the perfect shawl for a fresh spring day! The edge has a slight ruffle to it, which adds to the elegance.

The shawl contains a few unique stitches, which I explain in the pattern.

Instructions are available in charted and written form (in separate pdfs). If you purchase the pattern, you gain access to both.

Yarn: This shawl can be knit in multiple yarn weights. I would recommend lace or fingering weight yarn. The sample is knit in a combination of Ella Rae lace Merino lace weight and Ella Rae lace merino DK. The pattern requires 1000-1200 yards of yarn (914-1097 meters)

Needles: 3.75mm (US #5) 36” circular needles. Feel free to use a different size depending on the drape you would like for the fabric.

Size: Shawl is 5’4” from end to end and 2’2” deep (163cm x 66cm). The size can be adjusted by adjusting yarn weight and needle size. The pattern is 227 rows.

Gauge: Not critical for this shawl. Feel free to adjust yarn and needle size depending on the drape you would like.

Difficulty: Intermediate. It is helpful if you are familiar with the basics of lace knitting before starting this shawl.

Construction: The shawl is a modified pi shawl, worked from the neck outward.
