Shawl structure: First, zigzag stripes are knit sideways. They are joined seamlessly, as you knit. Then, the border and the top of the shawl are knit on from picked-up stitches.
Techniques used: traditional short rows, decreases, increases, and lots of simple garter knitting!
Materials:Circular needles, 4.0 or 4.5 mm,
and fingering or sport-weight yarn:
100 g (360-400m) of each variegated and dark blue,
50g (180-200m) of yellow and 30g (100-120m) of gray.
Gauge: approx. 17sts x 22rows in 10cm,
in garter stitch.
Size: unstretched, pre-blocked, the shawl drops 60cm,
wingspan 150cm.
