The pattern has been revised on 30 April 2017.

Raili’s Shawl is a half-circular shawl knitted from the bottom up. The shawl uses a horizontal drop stitch pattern at the hem.

Sizes and yardage: Size S uses 90 g (315 m / 345 yd) of main colour and 20 g (70 m / 77 yd) of contrast colour. Size M uses 130 g (456 m / 498 yd) of main colour and 30 g (105 m / 115 yd) of contrast colour. Size L uses 180 g (631 m / 690 yd) of main colour and 35 g (123 m / 134 yd) of contrast colour.

The green shawl shown was a beta-version and is slightly smaller than the L size. It was cast on with 322 sts, while the L size has 342 sts.

Gauge and needles: 24 sts per 10 cm in stockinette stitch unblocked using 3.5 mm (US 4) needles. Gauge is not important, but with another gauge the yardage needed will be different.

Size 6 mm (US 10) needles are needed for the cast on, and size 4 mm (US 6) for the drop stitch pattern of the hem.

Additional tools needed: A stitch marker and a tapestry needle.

ERRATA:
1: In the size L there was a decrease row missing. The eighth decrease row should have been: K3, k3tog, k 6, ssk, k 6×5, sm, k6, k2tog, k6×5, sssk, k3. After that, you work 15 rows as before, and then work the next decrease row, mislabeled eighth in the original erroneous version. (February 23 2014)
2: At the end of each size, the pattern said there are 48 sts - in reality there are 50 sts. I changed the end to match the final stitch count of 36 sts. (August 18 2015)
3: In size L the decrease row 7 had double decreases next to the selvage stitches, while it should have been: K 3, k2tog, k 8, ssk, k 8×6, sm, k 8, k2tog, k 8×6, ssk, k 3. (April 30 2017)
