Rain or Shine Sweater
Dive into your stash of fingering weight yarns and create a melted rainbow of slip stitches with this top-down sweater. The pattern begins with the folded rib hemmed collar and continues seamlessly with garter stitch short rows to raise the back of the neck. The yoke, body, and sleeves are knit in garter stitch with stockinette slip stitches. The stitches are very easy to knit, allowing you to focus on the marled color changes. Hold two strands of fingering weight yarn throughout the fabric and change one strand at a time for a smooth blended effect. Twisted ribbing frames the painterly fabric for a crisp clean finish. Enjoy stashbusting for this beginner friendly sweater pattern or treat yourself to some beautiful new yarns!

Yarn
DK weight
The sample features two strands of fingering weight yarn held together to equal a DK weight thickness. The ribbed collar, cuffs, and body ribbing feature one strand of DK or worsted weight yarn for a nice firm ribbed edge to the sweater.
Yardage
Approximately 2843 (3281, 3718, 4155, 4593) (5031, 5468, 5905, 6343)yds / 2600 (3000, 3400, 3800, 4200) (4600, 5000, 5400, 5800)m total
This is approximately 650 (750, 850, 950, 1050) (1150, 1250, 1350, 1450)g of yarn total.
I recommend gathering a pile of yarn that is a bit more than you think you will need, so you have more color options.
I use 1 strand of worsted weight yarn for the collar, cuffs, and body ribbing. I recommend getting two 100g skeins of worsted or DK weight yarn for the collar, cuffs, and body ribbing to be safe. You could use different colors for these ribbed cuffs, collar, and body ribbing to embrace the stashbusting spirit.
