Rainbear Love - Baby Blanket - Mosaic Overlay Crochet

With this pattern, you can create an adorable baby blanket measuring approximately 70 x 100 cm (28” x 40”). In the pattern, you’ll find all letters of the alphabet, allowing you to personalize the blanket and choose the letter you want to use.
The pattern includes clearly written instructions and charts in English, and uses US Terms.

I’ve embroidered faces on the rainbears. If you’d like to do the same, the pattern provides detailed instructions on how I did it, along with a link to an instructional video. However, the pattern is equally beautiful without the faces.

The pattern explains how to create a back without flaps using the negative stitch, this is optional and can be skipped.

Materials:
For this blanket, the following materials have been used:
6 x 100 g Alize Baby Best 354 (pink) or 6 x 100 g Alize Baby Best 418 (light indigo) (10% bamboo - 90% acrylic)
6 x 100 g Alize Baby Best Batik 6655
1 x 100 g Alize Baby Best 534 (brown)
4 mm hook

You can, of course, use a different yarn as well. In that case, make a gauge swatch.

Size:
The size of the blanket (without border) will be approx. 72 cm x102 cm (28” x 40”)
Stitches and rows:
Stitches: 127 (this includes 2 border stitches)
The stitches are divided over 5 sections of 25 stitches.
Rows: 210
Tension:
18 stitches and 20 rows for a 10x10 cm (4” x 4”) tension square, using a 4 mm hook.
