This scarf is made entirely of squares that have the ability to button together. Because the squares are not permanently attached to one another, you can easily make modifications to the scarf any time you want. You can even pull the whole scarf apart and reuse the squares to make other items altogether.

Each square has a built-in “Bobble Button” on one corner, and spaces on the other three corners that serve as button holes. This is what makes the squares interchangeable, kind of like Lego pieces, so you have a lot of flexibility on how you put them together.

There is also an accompanying video to show you how to make this project, as well as heaps of tips and tricks to make things easy.

This project uses DMC stranded cotton for the color squares. You will need at least 36 skeins so if you don’t already have enough in your stash then check thrift stores or online discount retailers, otherwise to buy new skeins it can be expensive. You don’t have to use stranded cotton, any scraps you have in your stash will be fine!
