Rainbow Brim Beanie
This simple beanie is loved by adults and children alike, with its subtle splash of rainbow colour. It’s the perfect pattern if you want to learn how to knit with different colours, because I provide full instructions and a detailed photo tutorial of how to darn all the colour ends away neatly and invisibly.
Directions are given for head circumferences from 47cm - 58cm (approx 1 year to large adult). You only need to be able to cast-on, cast-off, knit, purl and decrease by knitting 2 stitches together. It can be knitting in one piece or in the round.
Uses 1 x 50g skein of any chunky yarn that gives you the correct gauge, plus scraps of chunky yarn in rainbow colours. As a rough guide, the small adult size (55cm head circumference) uses 4m scraps of each colour in the rainbow brim, and 23m of yarn in the main colour.
Copyright note: You can’t reproduce, copy or resell the pattern, but you’re very welcome to sell any beanies you make from the pattern.
Why stick with a classic rainbow? I bet there’s room in your wardrobe for a beanie with a brim in different shades of your favourite colour, too!
