Warmer than mittens or gloves? Check (wow, and then some!). Stays on without straps, clips or choke-hazard neck-cord? Check. Big enough not to lose, but small enough to be unobtrusive? Check. Colourful and quirky without being garish? Check. This pretty and practical handwarmer or muff met the demanding requirements of my active little daughters, so I hope it’s just right for you, too.

This 6 page knitting pattern has directions for 2 sizes: child (approx age 2-6, outer circumference 22cm and 20cm long) and teen (approx age 8-adult, outer circumference 32cm and 30cm long). It also has 2 sets of instructions within it: you can either knit it in the round and then graft to achieve an entirely seam-free garment, or you can knit it in one piece and seam it as directed. This is why the pattern is suitable for all levels, from beginner to advanced. And whichever version you choose to knit, it will look stunning, especially teamed with the Rainbow Brim Beanie, whose pattern is available for sale separately.

Pattern is for chunky wool and 5.5mm knitting needles; you need to be able to cast-on, cast-off, knit, purl, decrease by knitting 2 stitches together, and increase by knitting into the front and back of the next stitch.

Like all Rainbow Knits patterns, feel free to use the garments you knit from the patterns in any way you like: for personal use or to sell commercially. The pattern, though, is copyright, so you can’t resell, copy or reproduce it.
