This blanket is knitted using one strand of fingering weight yarn held together with one strand of DK weight yarn throughout the project. It features a cable pattern that creates the illusion of knitted bubbles, and was designed to use up my leftover sock yarn and play with colour!

Materials:
• One 5.5mm / US size 9 circular needle, 100cm / 40” in length, or size needed to meet the required gauge.
• Stitch markers, optional.
• Tapestry needle for sewing in threads.
• Blocking materials.
• Fingering weight yarn, approximately 1250m / 1367yds in 23 colours. And 7 x 100g skeins of DK weight yarn, the sample used 1300m / 1422yds and was worked in African Expressions Enchanted, 60% Merino wool, 20% Kid mohair, 20% Superfine Alpaca 210m / 230yds per 100g, and various fingering weight leftovers. I used just over 6 skeins of the DK weight yarn, and approximately 15g for each stripe of fingering weight yarn, this varied according to the type of yarn used. The total amounts above reflect the yardage used in sample, and include a buffer.
 
Size:
One size. The blanket measures 116cm / 45.5” by 120cm / 47”. Width and length are easily adjusted.

Gauge:
18 stitches and 20 rows = 10cm / 4” in cable knitting, worked flat and blocked. Knitting to garage is not vital for this pattern, but a change in gauge will alter yardage requirements.
