Rainbow Coaster
Knit a colourful coaster for your morning coffee. This coaster is knitted in garter stitch, and uses intarsia colour-work to make the rainbow. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the rainbow is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). You will only need a few grammes of each colour to make one coaster, so it is an ideal project to use up ends of a yarn ball to avoid waste.
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4)
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; a few grammes in each colour
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle
SIZES
One size only - 10cm diameter.
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, decreases, and seaming to finish.
