About the pattern

There are two different rainbow designs to make, with instructions written for two different types of yarn and size. All together the patterns consist of 32 pages and the written instructions are accompanied with 41 photographs and 4 technical graphs/illustrations.

Size

The pattern consists of 4 different rainbows; 2 sizes in each design.

Smaller arch rainbow measures approx: 24cm in width, 17.5cm in height and is 8cm think.

Bigger arch rainbow measures approx: 40cm in width, 27cm in height and is 15cm thick.

Smaller semi-circle rainbow measures approx: 24cm in width, 17.5cm in height and is 8cm think.

Bigger semi-circle rainbow measures approx: 32cm in width, 23cm in height and is 12cm thick.

US: If a 7mm crochet hook is not available, the next best size is K-10.5, but this will result in a smaller gauge/product.

Skill level

Intermediate. This pattern consists of basic crochet stitches. US stitches = ss, chain, hdc, & hdc2tog. UK stitches = ss, chain, htr & htr2tog. There is some crochet in ‘back loop only’ (BLO) which is explained in detail with photos. Keeping the stitch count in check might take a little extra concentration.

Tools and Materials

None of the following is included:

• 4mm/G/6 crochet hook or 7mm crochet hook - (If 7mm is not available in the US, K-10.5 is the next best thing, though will result in a slightly smaller product)
• Scissors
• Darning Needle/Tapestry Needle
• Stitch markers
• Aran/Worsted or Super Chunky/Bulky yarn in various colours. Detailed estimates for each yarn type and colour are included in the pattern.
• Toy filling: 80 - 300 grams depending on the size of the rainbow.
