Rainbow flare cardigan
Intro
The rainbow flare cardigan is a unique approach to utilising a triangle shawl pattern into a cardigan. I have used the Granny stitch as a main pattern even though any pattern can be used as long as it makes a perfect triangle. The colour scheme is rainbow in which I have used 2 colours for each colour of the rainbow. The garment is large and very snuggly perfect for those chilly summer nights or early autumn days.
The pattern is written in both USA and UK terminology of which the UK terminology is in bold.
Yarn
Burgundy – Utopia yarns – Deep wine
Red – Utopia yarns Love potion
Coral – Marriners
Orange – Marriners
Mustard – Asda colour pack
Yellow – Asda colour pack
Light green - Asda colour pack
Dark green - Asda colour pack
Light blue - Marriners
Dark blue – Marriners
Lilac – Marriners
Mauve purple – Asda colour pack
As these yarn colours are quite difficult to come by, (I have had the Asda pack for more than a year for instance) I have included alternative yarn that you can use as an example. The alternative yarn is just a suggestion on yarn palette – they are the closest to the original yarn colours I have used.
Note, if you intend to use any alternative yarn make sure that they are the SAME YARN WEIGHT. For this project we work with dk yarn. Substitute yarn:
