Rainbow Fringe Poncho
Talk about fringe! I was originally looking to make a nice light lacy poncho, but as I was doodling out my design I had an “ah ha!” moment. The fringe is usually an afterthought, a little extra flair, but
what if it was the star! So, I wanted to make it stand out and what other way than to make it a gradient rainbow.
I used 4 balls of Furls Whims Merino DK in Charcoal, each square took a little less than the whole ball.
1 ball of Furls Whims Merino DK in Light grey for the borders and joining.
1 ball of Scheepjes Whirl in Jumpin Jelly, but note that one ball made enough fringe for 2 ponchos.
The main poncho is made in DK weight yarn but the fringe is in fingering weight, there are some comaprable gradient cakes out there and I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
