I created this pattern because I wanted to knit a striped rainbow blanket in the round. The result is a circular baby blanket, which can double as a play mat.

Since infanthood my children have been mesmerized by rainbows, and undoubtedly the colorful rings or “halos” of this pattern will delight and capture the imagination of any baby or child.
