This Rainbow Highland Cow has been crocheted in the Amigurumi style, in the round. The finished Cow is 21cm tall and 27cm wide.

Stylecraft Special Aran has been used which gives a nice firm base for all those lovely locks which are made from a mixture of Stylecraft Special DK. The nose is an oval shape with one colour change to complete the head. Legs have one round crocheted in the back of the loop to denote hooves and are fairly chunky to add stability. The pattern uses double crochet (single in US terms) and has lovely illustrations to guide you.

The pattern is written in UK terms but uses double crochet so if you follow US terms just substitute this for single crochet. Other than crocheting in the back of the loop on one round for the legs it is fairly straightforward.

Gauge is not important but might affect the amount of yarn required.

Stylecraft yarns have been used but this could be substituted with others. Apart from the nose and horns, one colour of Aran has been used for the head, body, legs and ears. Stylecraft DK has been used to create the rainbow effect hair.
