The pattern creates a baby blanket from two round granny squares which incorporates a multi-coloured Celtic Knot. All necessary patterns are included with charts.

The blanket will be about 33ins (84cm) square at the suggested tension.

Of course the blanket could be made from a different weight yarn but then the size would alter.

The pictured blanket was made in King Cole Baby Big Value DK an 100% acrylic yarn. As of September 2024 that yarn no longer has all the colours needed but King Cole Cherished does. A cotton yarn could also be used.

The squares could be joined through the back loops but for people who prefer the Join-As-You-Go method, an admittedly slightly trickier way of making the knot stand out against the background is given.

The following quantity of yarn in the six rainbow colours should be more than sufficient.

Red 87m (30g King Cole acrylic)

Orange 87m (30g King Cole acrylic)

Yellow 44m (15g King Cole acrylic)

Green 87m (30g King Cole acrylic)

Blue 87m (30g King Cole acrylic)

Violet 44m (15g King Cole acrylic)

Background - 870m (300g King Cole acrylic) for central portion of design and a further 363m (125g King Cole acrylic) for the border as pictured. About 25g was used for each round of the border.

Available colours in different makes of baby yarn vary all the time. You may ned to search to find one that has all the needed colours.
