This is a junk or leftover hat where you use bits and pieces of yarn from your stash. If Pippi Longstocking were taking time away from the South Seas to visit Villa Villa Coola with her pals Tommy and Annika, she would wear a rag-tag hat like this one. The earflaps are knit separately on double pointed needles and worked seamlessly into the round with this bottom-to-top hat pattern.

Use whatever stripe pattern you like, but save all the colors for the glorious pompom on the top.
