My Rainbow Road is now FREE, just like the concept of marriage in all of the beautiful states in my adoptive country! Love wins!

This is the perfect pattern to showcase tricky yarn, especially if you suspect it’s fragile, and it has long colour changes. It could absolutely be knit with regular sock yarn, but using regular sock yarn to carry the tricky yarn really does work wonders.

The rainbow yarn I used was handspun by my sister-in-law and has a long colour change throughout the entire skein. It’s difficult to find yarn for sale which does that, the closest I’ve found are on Etsy:

Don’t get too hung up on the yardage, find the yarn you want to showcase, and for the companion yarn, just get two to three times the yardage. I used Knit Picks Stroll Tonal for my companion yarn, and ran out 8 rows from the end, so I just used a similar grey yarn and you can’t really tell. It was over by the red side, go look, I’ll wait.

This pattern is really forgiving, I knit while drunk reasonably regularly, and while I don’t make many mistakes, I am confident that I have made a mistake in probably half the rows on this scarf, usually with counting the stitches between the YOs. Just go back to the pattern once you realise, and it’ll be fine.

This is only the second pattern I’ve published, and obviously I’m not good with accuracy, so please let me know if you find any mistakes and I’ll correct the pattern.
