Created using a limited amount of yarn, this shawl is rainbow shaped with a ruffled edge. It is knitted from the external edge towards the centre to ensure that there is enough yarn. Don’t be put off by the large cast on - after the ruffle has been completed the stitch number decreases by 50%!

Beads are optional - pictorial instructions for a beaded cast-on are included in the pattern.

This pattern can be knitted using a variety of yarn weights. Using a heavier yarn will require larger needles and more yarn to complete the project.

One of the inspirations for this pattern is the frilly dress worn in the Firefly episode Shindig by Kaylee.
