Rainbow Stripe Sweater
Inspired by the retro, colorpop styles of the 80s, this sweater is designed with a relaxed fit and cropped ever so slightly to give the perfect vintage sweatshirt vibes! Rainbow stripes down the sleeves are the perfect finishing touch on this playful design.
This pattern is perfect to use scraps of yarns from various projects. You may choose to add the stripes using Vanna’s Palettes from Lion Brand Yarn as I have done, or you may use scrap yarns of a similar yarn weight.
This pattern is worked from the top, down. You will begin working this sweater flat to shape the neckline and then join to knit in the round. After you work the yoke, you will separate to work the body in the round and the sleeves flat. The rainbow stripes will be added at the end using a crochet slipped stitch technique. This technique is outlined at the bottom of this pattern but a more detail explanation can be found by searching ‘Rainbow Stripe Sweater’ on www.originallylovely.com
Although this pattern is designed with a cropped fit, there are places throughout where length can be added.
This sweater is designed in 7 sizes: XS (S, M, L) (XL, 2X, 3X)

This is an intermediate level knitting pattern. You will need to know how to work in the round, simple shaping, pick up stitches, and sew seams. Some simple crochet knowledge for adding the stripes is nice but not necessary. A photo tutorial at the end of the pattern will help walk you through this technique.
