This hat is knit in the round from the bottom up incorporating stranded two color knitting from charts. The charts are color coded for easier reading and are read from the right to the left. The ear flaps are knit first and then the body of the hat stitches are cast on between the flaps. The topper shown is I-cords twisted together, but pom poms or other embelishments could be used. An I-cord tie is used to tie around the neck. A pom pom could be added at the end of the I-cord ties.
