Rainbow Waves Hemp Scarf
Hemp is quite stiff and a little smelly to work with. The smell soon goes after washing and the more it is washed, the softer the fabric becomes. These colours work so well with thread painting as they blend together.
Materials
1 x 50g skein of 2ply (same as 4ply weight yarn) in each of the following colours - Ouch (red), Wow (orange), Woah (yellow), Hum (green), Gosh (blue), Phew (indigo), Ah (violet).
Equipment
4.50mm hook and a needle for sewing in ends.
Tension (UK terms)
14 tr and 7 rows to 10 cm
There should be enough to make another, smaller scarf working the colours in the opposite direction.
If you buy two skeins of each colour, you will probably have enough to work two scarves in one colourway direction and one scarf in the opposite colourway direction.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to work with hemp, this scarf will work with any light weight yarn used double.
