Raindrops is a completly reversible Cowl, worked in Double Knit technique. Double Knitting allows you to produce a lofty and warm double layer of Stockinette Stitch fabric with mirror-image colorwork while knitting both layers at the same time. Alternating a knit stitch with a purl stitch you work with two strands (working yarns). The purl side of the two layers face the inside. The two layers are intertwined at each color change

MATERIAL

2 skeins of 3.5 oz (100 gr) fingering weight yarn in contrasting colors
circular needle US 2
stitch marker
darning needle

SIZE

With a gauge of 24 sts = 4” (10 cm) you will get a circumference of approx. 26” (66 cm).
The circumference of the cowl can be changed easily.

Raindrops ist ein komplett reversibler Cowl, der in der Double Face Technik gestrickt wird. Bei dieser Stricktechnik werden Vorder- und Rückseite gleichzeitig gestrickt. Beide Seiten erscheinen in glatt rechts. Gestrickt wird mit zwei Fäden, immer eine Masche rechts und eine Masche links im Wechsel. Das Besondere erschließt sich beim Muster stricken durch einfachen Farbwechsel, hier entsteht sozusagen ein Negativ des Musters in der anderen Farbe auf der Rückseite.

In der Anleitung ist ausserdem eine kleine Strickschule zum Doubleface-Stricken enthalten, die Themen wie Anschlag, Abketten, Maschenprobe, Lesen eines Zählmusters, sowie allgemeine Prinzipien dieser Technik, abdeckt.

GRÖSSE

Bei einer Maschenprobe von 24 Maschen = 10 cm
erhält man einen Umfang des Cowls von ca. 66 cm.
Der Umfang läßt sich leicht auf die gewünschte Größe anpassen.
