This cowl, inspired by Beatrix Potter and The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends, is worked in the round from the bottom up. It is cozy and light, the perfect little bit of luxury to throw on in a slightly chilly room to keep your neck warm. Mawata silk hankies add a lovely thick and thin texture to the knitted fabric and have incredible drape. They may seem exotic, but are very easy to work with, and the pattern includes detailed instructions on how to use them.

This pattern is written for Silk Hankies, but a commercial fingering weight or mohair yarn will work just as well. It is a perfect use for that special skein you’ve been saving. You can also work only part of the pattern to make a headband and use up some sock yarn scraps.

Materials: 1 oz silk hankies OR 300-350 yds/ 275-320 m of commercial yarn.
