Raindrops on Your Window Cowl
This is a easy to follow and illustrated pattern/tutorial on how to make my own design of the “Raindrops on Your Window Cowl”
I named my shop and my first design for my love of rain. There’s nothing more comforting than crocheting on a rainy day while you’re inside, warm, and listening to the pitter-patter of soft rain outside!
There are some wonderful handmade shops on here and I wanted to be part of this, I have purchased patterns in the past and have been very satisfied with the result so I wanted to share some of my work!
Details:
-PDF pattern is easy to follow with pictures using a light colored yarn so you can see the stitches. I edited and included arrows and text on my pictures for clarity.
-This is written in US terms
-The pictures provided are left handed (stitches worked left to right), as I am a lefty but the pattern will turn out the same for a righty.
-Skill level: easy (chaining, double crochet, half double crochet, single crotchet, and working in back loops)
Supplies used:
• Bernat© Baby Softee Yarn (3/4 of a skein)
• 6.0mm (J) Hook
• Tapestry/yarn needle to sew scarf into a cowl and weave in any ends.
-Measurements: Finished Size: 15.5” long x 3.2” wide , 31” around
-This pattern can be lengthened or shortened by increasing or decreasing chains.
-This pattern can also be worked using 4ply yarn, although, I used 3ply for the project. I swatched it in 4ply and I loved the look and it came out VERY warm. So a good project for Winter.
-The ribbing in this pattern looks intricate and complex but its very simple and I think my pictures will make things flow smooth for the reader.
-This cowl is not worked in the round, it is worked in a straight across row and is sewn together in the end for a nice, straight, seam.
-You can also make a scarf with this pattern by doubling the chain length and adding a nice fringe!
Now the legal stuff
