The Rainforest Scarf is a lacy accessory with a simple yet fancy Rainforest stitch pattern. It pairs perfectly with the Clematis Crochet Beret and Canal Swirl Beret.
The stitch pattern is created using short rows, slip-stitch variations, and standard crochet stitches, smoothly integrated into ribbing edges.
The Rainforest Scarf is worked vertically, flat, in one piece. Repeats of the stitch pattern are structured for a double-sided scarf textile.
You are a creator of your Rainforest Scarf, which means you decide on its length and width.
Language: English.
Crochet level: Intermediate.
You need to know how to work: slip stitch, yarn over slip stitch, hdc and e-hdc, be ready to learn some stitch modifications that create the stitch pattern, and follow the instructions carefully.
Inside:
• 15 pages of the pattern contain charts, written instructions, step-by-step photo tutorials, and mute detailed video tutorials with English karaoke-style subtitles on the gauge swatch, including a leftie-friendly mirrored video tutorial. Convenient navigation inside the pattern.
Size: not specified.
Recommended Materials:
1. Yarn: 150 – 250 m per 100 g. Approximately 250 - 450 g, depending on the length and
width.
Choose a rather volumetric yarn to reduce the scarf weight and thus the load on your neck. Solid colors, hand-dyed yarns or tweeds. Variegated yarns will obscure the stitch pattern but can add other exciting effects. Avoid very contrasted color-changing yarn; it will eat up the stitch pattern’s appearance. A z-twist yarn will give a different stitch definition; not all can be recommended.
- A main crochet hook size 4 mm – 6 mm, and a hook 1 mm smaller to finish.
- A pointy needle for weaving in.
- Stitch markers to help counting.
Main steps
• Working on the gauge swatch is optional but recommended to study pattern stitches and set a density
• Decide on the scarf length.
• You can decide on the width as you go because you can finish work after you complete any repeat of the Main Panel.
• Enjoy creating the beauty of your masterpiece.
• Block it.
• Wrap yourself in and show off on your social media.
