Rainier Hats
The rainier hats have been updated (September, 2020). Complete written and charted instructions have been added, the pattern is now accessible and the pattern now includes my new formatting for patterns. Enjoy! Heather
Of all the fire-mountains which, like beacons, once blazed along the Pacific Coast, Mount Rainier is the noblest in form, has the most interesting forest cover, and, with perhaps the exception of Shasta, is the highest and most flowery. -John Muir
The Rainier Hats {just like the Mount Rainier Cowl} were inspired by the sub-alpine wildflowers of Paradise Valley. The wildflower meadows in late July-early August radiate every color in the spectrum. The geometrical architecture of the hats are inspired by Mount Adams (typically in the backdrop of the iconic images taken in this meadow). The lines and color offer up an opportunity to explore and experiment with your knitting. I hope you enjoy it!
This is a 28 page pattern bundle. One pdf includes the 4 ‘official’ hat designs as well as a Design Your Own Hat section that includes 7 specific examples of additional hat combinations you can knit using the 4 included charts!
