It just keeps on raining.

Inspired by a period of rain, rain and more rain and a luxury skein of dark blue cashmere. Fingering weight yarn will be your best choice for this pattern. This is a curved, draping shawl, with interesting construction, that will wrap around you; sitting naturally on your shoulders.

You will start by knitting the rain clouds sideways on, with lots of knitting through the back of the stitch and some short row wraps to create shaping. After picking up the stitches for the main body of the shawl, working top down, the rain begins with simple lace stitches.

Finally, there is the option of a beaded cast off which gives a glimmering set of water droplets and creates some weight for your shawl to hang beautifully on your shoulders.

There are two files, the second one contains a colour coded chart and written instructions for part one, as suggested by my test knitters, for ease of use.

There is a blocking diagram on the first page (top curve 78cm, bottom curve 145cm and depth 34cm), please note it will be a lot narrower than this when knitting/ before blocking.
