Rainy Day Socks
Description: The Rainy Day Socks are knit in a beautiful, squishy texture that is reminiscent of rain drops. The pattern is ribbed, so it offers a fair amount of stretch. These socks can be knit toe-up or cuff-down depending on your preference - either way they’re beautiful!
Method: knitting
Skill Level: intermediate (experience knitting socks or adventurous beginner knitters)
Yarn: fingering weight sock yarn. See page 3 for samples:
Sample 1 (Cuff-down)
MC - Lulu by Tiny Human Knits
CC - Navy Black by me
Sample 2 (Toe-up)
MC - Night Sky #3 by Olive Park Yarns
CC - Marshmallow by Hue Loco
Yardage: 100 g for MC and 20 g for CC should be enough!
Needles: US1 (2.25 mm) (optional for cuffs) DPNS, US2 (2.75 mm) DPNS (a set of 4 will do).
Notions: tapestry needle, scissors, stitch marker (optional)
Approx. Gauge:
Stockinette
44 rows x 32 sts for 10 cm x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in)
Dip Stitch Motif
48 rows x 36 sts for 10 x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in)
Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4) result in a sock with a foot circumference 16 (18, 20.5, 22) cm or 6.25 (7, 8, 8.75) in. The dip stitch motif adds stretch.
