There’s something so amazing about a gentle spring rain - the soothing pitter-patter of the drops against the roof, the clean fresh scent in the air, and the way everything looks so clean and sparkling once the rain stops.

The Rainy Days Shawl was designed to offer the same sense of calming renewal. The Apple Tree Knits gradients work up gently and seamlessly, so that you can experience the beauty of the colors as they unfold. The pattern itself is almost entirely mindless, with just enough variation in the rows that you won’t lose interest.

The Rainy Days Shawl is a simple pattern that works up quickly and easily. It’s specifically designed for crocheters who want to make something gorgeous but don’t want to tackle a complex pattern. The pattern is incredibly straightforward and the yarn does all the work, for a finished shawl that looks like it took way more time, skill, and effort than it actually did.

Sample
Sample uses Apple Tree Knits Luxe Fingering (fingering weight; 51% mulberry silk/49% merino; 500yds/113g), one Jumbo gradient (750yds/170g) in Rainy Days
Thanks to Apple Tree Knits for providing the yarn for the pattern sample!

Yarn, Yardage, and Colors
The sample used one 750yds/686m/170g skein of fingering weight in a hand dyed gradient. It’s easily adjustable to work with any yardage and looks amazing with any weight from lace to worsted.

The pattern works perfectly with a gradient and is designed to let you use up every scrap of yarn. It’s also ideal for a solid or semi-solid colorway. The pattern will break up variegated yarns, but the variegation will hide the lace.

Skills Required
This is a beginner friendly pattern! It uses only dc and ch. Skills include working flat and working into the ch-space.
