Rainy Morning Scarf
by Fatima
This pattern is
available for free.
The scarf is crocheted in one piece. After Row 2, the pattern repetition is established starting at Row 3. The pattern repetition consists of alternating rows of 2 sc increase and 1 sc decrease, resulting to an increase of 1 sc in each Row. Decorate the scarf with tassels at the three points if desired. Happy crocheting!
Please refer to version 2 of the scarf which shows the tasseled version.
I used 4.5mm hook with Ice Yarns Metallic Lurex (DK weight).
Edited: Pattern is only in written instructions. The chart has been removed because it is not very clear. Please let me know if you spot any errors in this pattern. Thank you!
Tip:
The scarf has a tendency to curl at the sides. This happens particularly with lofty and lightweight yarns. I notice the following helps lessen the curling:
- Blocking.
- Using heavier weight yarn. Cotton is usually heavier than wool, for example.
- Making the scarf larger, the weight smooths out the drape of the scarf.
- Using tassels on all points of the scarf, this adds weight to the scarf and minimizes curling.
- Adding a simple scallop trim all around the scarf.
