Raising Arrows Square Baby Blanket
Raising Arrows Square Baby Blanket
2018 Sunshine Charlotte CAL
A friend of mine has chosen the motto “Raising Arrows” for the way she parents, based on a Bible verse in the Psalms. Arrows are also very chic right now, so both of these things inspired this months designs. To see this blanket worked in rows instead of rounds, check out the Raising Arrows Rectangle Baby Blanket.
This blanket is worked in the round in alternating colors. The main color best shows off the arrow pattern if it’s a solid colorway, but I like to use a variegated yarn to accent the stripes of arrows. The arrow pattern is created using dc and ch-1 spaces, and careful stitch counts are given at the end of each round so you can always be sure you’re on track! A reverse single crochet gives the blanket an easy, finished look, and you can follow the link to a video tutorial if you’re not familiar with that stitch.
The Raising Arrows Square Baby Blanket is the July installment of the 2018 Sunshine Charlotte Crochet ALong, which features a different baby blanket pattern each month. This year’s CAL projects are meant to be donated to crochet charities. I’m featuring a different charity each month on my blog, but you can also donate to the charity of your choice. I design and donate these baby blankets in memory of my daughter Charlotte, who died of brain cancer in July 2015.
