Rally, the Basketball Fanatic, is one of my many sports themed lovey designs. He has adorable curly hair, basketball antennas, and a round blanket with a basketball net edging. But what makes him really special is that all his pieces are crocheted in place - no sewing of limbs or eyes, and no worries about mispositioned body parts! Your only worry will be which sport you want to crochet after basketball.

Pattern was independently tested.

Materials

• Hooks – 3.75 mm, 4.0 mm, and 6.5 mm
• Yarn – 4 weight. Project uses skin tone yarn, three team/uniform colors (e.g. blue, white and silver), plus additional colors for eyes, hair, basketballs, and basketball net (e.g. white).
• If you want to replicate the colors pictured, they are as follows…
  • Loops & Threads Soft & Shiny Doux et Brillant, Cacao/Brown - 1 oz/65 yards
  • Skein Tones - 1.5 oz/ 80 yards
  • Big Twist Value, Navy - 1.5 oz/100 yards
  • Big Twist Value, White - .5 oz/35 yards
  • Big Twist Sparkle, Silver - .5 oz/35 yards
  • Caron Simply Soft, orange - <.5 oz
  • Remnants from my stash - orange for basketballs, and green/blue/brown for eyes
• Tapestry needle
• Fiber fill
• Felting needle, fine to medium gauge (optional, yet highly recommended to help place lines on basketballs)
