Rambler Mitts are a pair of fingerless mitts patterns, knit bottom up in the round with fingering or sport weight yarn. They have a plain stockinette palm and a choice of two lace panels on the front of the hand. Both versions are on one pdf.

• Version 1 has a textured rose motif at the top of the hand, encircled by an easily customized vine lace pattern down the length of the cuff.

• Version 2 has a short, ribbed cuff, branching into swirls enclosing a textured diamond centre.

The mitts have slight negative ease, sized to fit an adult lady’s hand between 7-7.5” circumference (18-19cm).

Yarn
The pattern calls for between 130-150 yards (120-140 metres) of either sport or fingering weight yarn. Samples were knit in Knitting for Olive Merino (shade Putty) for Version 1, and Rowan Felted Tweed (shade Duck Egg) for Version 2.
For best results, choose a yarn in solid or semi-solid shades to show off lace patterns to best advantage.

Needles and Notions

• Version 1 - 2.75mm (US2) circular needles or DPNs for working small circumferences in the round.
• Version 2 - 2.75mm (US2) and 3mm (US2.5) circular needles or DPNs for working small circumferences in the round.
• Stitch markers, waste yarn, tapestry needle.

Gauge

• 28 sts / 40 rnds = 4” (10cm) over stockinette stitch in the round using 2.75mm needles (US2)
• 26 sts / 36 rnds = 4” (10cm) over stockinette stitch in the round using 3mm needles (US2.5).
