Rambling Scutellaria
Keeping it within my skull theme, the “Rambling Scutellaria” (pronounced S-cutel-laria) is a play of Scutellaria is a genus name of flowering plants in the mint family. A flower also known as a “Skullcaps”. The most common we see is the Snapdragon. You can find these in the USA at your local garden center every spring. However many different varieties can be found all over the world.
In this you will find some bits of dimension and texture as well as a unusual way to create the last round. I don’t want to give it away but this is a new spin on creating a doily and you will want to keep making more and more of this pattern.
I usually work this with size 10 cotton and a #2 hook. But feel free to size up or down to your thread. Finished pieced will be about 15 inch.
This project can be sold after you create it. I would love a reference if you could please.
