Random Acts of Kindness
If you have a story of a random act of kindness you’ve experienced and you’d like to share it in the comments, I’d love to hear it, and I’m sure others would too.
Random Acts of Kindness is an elegant and versatile semicircular shawl, embossed by radiating lines of twisted stitches and buds that double and redouble as the rows progress, much the way acts of kindness inspire further kindnesses.
This shawl is an experiment in a gradual Pi, with a simple modular chart which doubles, quadruples, octuples and so on, but it does this gradually, rather than doubling all in a single row as in Barbara Walker’s classic Pi shawl.
This is a very simple, yet highly versatile design that works with any yardage and most yarn weights, and can made deeper or fuller.
-
The size of the shawl is highly adaptable.
-
Suits lace to DK weight yarn in any yardage between approx 300m and 3000.
-
The design can be worked entirely from the written pattern, or from charts with some notes.

luthier has made a spreadsheet for tracking rows and repeats, (see images on the left side of this page), and she has kindly offered to share this if you send a pm.
