Randomly Productive
This shawl celebrates randomness in colour, texture, and shape … yet despite relinquishing control over the details, despite purposely not planning everything out in detail, it makes a completely wearable and absolutely one-of-a-kind shawl.
Skills needed:
- knit & purl
- yarn over
- knit two together
That’s it. Really.
Yarn can be anything you like - find a pile of yarns in the same weight and colours that go together and have at ‘er. Want to add some yarn that is too light to match with the rest? Hold it double or triple or with something else. Got some funky art yarn you want to add as an accent? Perfect!
This is really a very fluid design - the pattern tells you how to make the lace segments and how to form the wedges, but the size and colour of each wedge is up to you.
Add a fringe or work a garter stitch border or add a lace border. You have options!
