Randomosity
A pleasant mixture of garter and lace, this scarf is worked in a randomly ordered sequence chosen by you, which means that no two scarves will (likely) turn out exactly the same. The randomness of the structure blends beautifully with the ever-changing shades of varigation, providing a little more visual interest than solid garter or lace. It’s simple and easy to memorize, but always changing so never boring!
Gauge is not critical; you’ll want it be a little loose. Using a size 4 needle and one skein of Mille Colori Baby by Lang Yarns, my finished and blocked scarf measures about 5.5” x 44”. It’s a small project, so it’s great to take with you; and it’s simple structure makes it easy to work on in small increments, when you just have a few moments to take out your knitting. Completed, it’s just the right size for adding a little color to your day!
The true beauty of this pattern is that it’s really not random at all - it is carefully planned to make it look as unplanned as possible.
This pattern is for personal use only.
