Raspberry Bramble Afghan
In Hellenistic Troy, Raspberry was linked inextricably to fertility and young children in the story of Ida. She was nursemaid to the infant Zeus. She pricked her finger while picking the snow-white berries, thus staining them red for all eternity. The botanical name for Raspberry, Rubus idaeus, means “bramble bush of Ida.” The stitches in this pattern have beautiful texture reminiscent of raspberries on the vine.
The afghan measures 45x65” and fits nicely on a twin bed, but it can easily be resized to suit your needs. The pattern stitch is completely reversible and a colorful chart is included.
