As a child, I often dreamed of having a Hope Chest where I would collect all my prized possessions and future heirlooms to use when I was to betroth.

It was to be filled with linens, lace, lingeries, and small trinkets; probably a sewing kit and things for the kitchen, including sweet little crocheted washcloths.

I never got that Hope Chest: I was born into the wrong era; but I had designed some sweet little washcloths, for myself and for gifts. The Raspberry Buckle blanket was adapted from that little washcloth pattern and turned into a lovely large airy lacy heirloom blanket.

I chose to make mine in the bold 2023 color of the year, Magenta (or Raspberry!) but this would also look lovely in a soft pink, ecru or beige.

Regardless if you choose a soft and sweet hue or bold and vibrant statement, this quick and easy blanket will be treasured for many, many years.

The pattern is 3 pages, in English using US terminology.
