Savoy Knot Wrap - or oversized cowl

Chart reading skills highly recommended but written line by line (abbreviated) instructions are included.

Large bottom up rectangle, with offset knot-work columns and ribs. Optionally edged with single crochet of coordinating or contrasting color.

If substituting yarn: Rasta and Ushya are extra super bulky yarns at 2 to 3 WPI (wraps per inch)

I do highly recommend using the Rasta as the main yarn. It is pricey but absolutely worth every penny.

Knowledge

Knitting: K, P, SSK, K2tog, Lifted Increases (R & L), CABLING

Basic Crochet (optional ~ for edging): Chain, SC, slp st

Materials

Yarn

Body (MC) 360 yds/328 m Extra Super Bulky Yarn @ 2 – 2.5 WPI

Crochet Edge (CC) 50 yds/46 m Co-ordinating or Contrasting Extra Super Bulky

Sample used 4 (MC) Rasta in Piedras and 1 (CC) Ushya in Rosewood. My actual yardage use was: MC approx. 310 yds (284 m) and CC approx. 45 yds (41 m)

Tools

US 19 (15 mm) or US 17 (12.75 mm) Needles
~ I knit tightly and used US 19 if you knit loosely try 17
Cable Needle or DPN
US O (15.5 mm) Crochet Hook
Tapestry Needle

Notions ~ for optional anywhere buttons

2 - 3 sets of two different buttons (4 or 6 total) about 1.25”/ 3.75 cm– (make sure they go thru the fabric and stay put). A nice wide toggle button and a round work well together
