Rathalos, the King of the Skies!
Monster Hunter! What an amazing game series, I really couldn’t resist finally taking the time to make and pattern this huge Rathalos.

My Rathalos is the biggest plush to date, coming in at a huge 29 inches from nose to tail, with a wingspan of 22 inches and stands an incredible 11 inches tall.
The pattern calls for 8mm yarn and a 8mm hook to be able to turn out as big as the one I made.
4mm wool and hook can possibly be used - I’ve not tried this - but it may become extremely fiddly with all the details required. If 4mm is used I cannot give you an accurate size guide.

Always keep an eye to the skies when out in the field, as the Rathalos is an expert hunter and will not hesitate to test his strength even against a seasoned hunter!

Stitches used: SC, INC, DEC, CH, SLST, HDC, DBL, TRB, PICOT

To make the eyes I recommend needle felting, this is what I did to give it the flush appearance, however felt or embroidery can also be used.
