Raven’s Roost Revisited is a redux of my very first pattern, Raven’s Roost. Reworking Raven’s Roost is a trail marker; an etched line on a closet door to show my growth as a designer. This updated shawl features the same texture and color-play as the original, now with updated visuals and a new gauge.

Raven’s Roost Revisited is a triangular shawl with alternating stripes of stockinette and garter slip stitch, encouraging knitters to play with their skeins of variegated yarn for fun combinations, while not sacrificing the option for a classic look of using solids or tonals. This is a perfect project for a first colorwork project, and a perfect canvas to showcase handspun yarn.

Finished Measurements – Wingspan: 60 inches (150 cm); Height: 27 inches (67.5 cm)

Yarn – approx. 840 yds (768 m) DK/light worsted weight yarn; 210 yds (192 m) each of 4 colors

Junction Fiber Mill has phased out their colorway Razzle Dazzle. Their new color Red Hots is a perfect substitute.

Needles – US 9 (5.5 mm) 40 inch (100 cm) circular needle or size needed to meet gauge

Gauge – 16 sts x 27 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch, knit flat, blocked;
22 sts x 25 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in garter slip stitch, knit flat, blocked
