Overview
This project was inspired by the Raven’s Wing colorway gradient set of Meridian sock yarn by Seven Sisters Arts, which found me at the Madison Knitters’ Guild Knit-In in March. The skirt is worked from the bottom up, and all published sizes use one 900 yard gradient set with six colors. The yardage of the contrasting color changes with size. The skirt is knit with negative ease, as the garter stitch motif allows for stretch to hug your curves.

Yarn Requirements/Notions
Seven Sisters Arts Meridian:
Gradient Set (all sizes): 200 g = 900 yds in a single set

Small (33-in at hip): 440 yds Contrasting Color (CC)
Medium (36-in at hip): 460 yds CC size shown in cover photo
Large (38-in at hip): 520 yds CC

Needles: Size 2 (2.75 mm) double point needles for hexagon motifs and 32-inch circular knitting needles for yoke.

1.25 yard of 1-inch wide woven elastic for waistband

Gauge: The dimensions of each hexagon are measured from two opposite sides. Each hexagon is approximately 2 ¾ inches across when blocked.

Note: The finished size of the garment is easily modified by adjusting the number of hexagons in each round. The photos show the largest size skirt, and has 14 hexagons in each row. The small has 12 hexagons, and medium is knit with 13 hexagons per round.
