Mitts with sun-ray ribs brighten the greyest of days.

Ideal for vacation knitting, you can make a beautiful pair of Leave these to Me and a pair of Raymi from one 100g skein, and they’re on the same size needles too. This way you get two different projects to keep you entertained while you’re away, packed in the space for one project. It’s a fantastic alternative to one pair of vacation socks, don’t you think?

Named after the Peruvian Sun God festival, you can capture some sunshine to keep you warm later. Alternatively, choose a muted shade for a more subtle effect. Worked in the round, this is an easy & portable project for an intermediate knitter.

Materials

  • Fyberspates Vivacious 4ply, 100% superwash merino, 365m/399yds per 100g skein, Sunshine (604) 1 x 100g skein. Allow 37g of yarn per pair - they’re great value gifts. Or make a pair of Raymi and and pair of Leave these to Me from one skein (see special pattern offer above).
  • 2.75mm/US 2 and 3mm/US 2 1/2 needles for working in the round using your preferred method - either sets dpns, magic loop circulars with minimum 80cm/32” cable, or two sets each circulars with 60cm/24” cables.
  • Stitch markers
  • Small amount of waste yarn for thumb stitches

Tension
28 sts & 40 rows to 10cm/4” square over Stocking Stitch (Stockinette) using 3mm/US 2 1/2 needles or size required to achieve tension.

Tip: Working stitches through the back loop where specified is essential for a great finished result.
