PATTERN NOTES
The Re-Leaf cowl is cast on using a special method similar to an Italian tubular cast on, then double knit in the round. Alternately, you may use the alternating two colour long tail cast on, but this will not form a seamless edge.
Each single charted stitch represents both of these two stitches. Markers are placed between repeats – use a different coloured marker for the beginning of round to help keep your place. When the knitting is complete, the two sides are grafted together for an invisible edge. Details are embroidered in a third colour to finish. For the sample, chain stitch and backstitching were used to suggest branches. Also pictured is the Winterberry cowl, a slight variation of Re-Leaf.
