In music, Ré = D, thus this musical score spells out a nickname that my youngest daughter often calls her older sister : Ré Ré. My youngest was about to give birth to her third child, and had chosen Evelyn Renée as her name, Evie Ré. Evelyn was an incredibly close friend to myself (from middle school on) and to my family, most especially to my daughters. She was my partner in crime as we led a girls’ group at our parish, and was very involved in the adult choir and led the children’s choir, as well. My daughter has the glorious gift of song and the ability to express it through her lovely voice, which Evelyn has supported in since she was a small child. Evelyn passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last summer, Thus this block collaboratively designed by my husband and myself, is a tribute to my daughters, my dear friend, and to our sweet little Evie Ré, who in her name represents Evelyn Reborn and The love of music shared by Evelyn, and my daughters….

Evie Ré arrived in a few weeks ago arrival amidst these trying times, but thankfully all went exceptionally well!
