Reaching Vines
In celebration of Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool festival 2015; I wrote this hat pattern.
Reaching Vines is a hat I designed specifically with Buckwheat Bridge Angoras 100% Cormo 3-ply worsted in mind. This yarn is so soft and squishy, and is a joy to knit with. I can never leave the fair without picking out a few skeins.
Subtle texture created with knits and purls highlights the natural beauty of this yarn.
Pattern is written for average adult head (20”). Directions are given to modify for any size.
Aim for gauge 18 sts/ 4”(10cm) - may need to adjust needle size to US #6 or #7
As written, the hat uses a bit less than 1 skein of yarn (225 yds).
If Buckwheat Bridge Angoras yarn isn’t available; any round yarn with good stitch definition would be a good replacement (such as Rowan pure wool Worsted).
Be adventurous! this hat would look great in any weight yarn; just adjust your needle size accordingly.
