This pattern is available in English language only
American (US) crochet terms
Advanced beginner/intermediate
There is a video to help with Rounds 11 and 12 of this octopus:

Also, you can always contact me if you have questions about the process of making this octopus.
This Realistic Octopus has arm span approximately 43 inches (108cm),
if made from Super Bulky (Category 6) yarn,
like Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® Yarn
and hook size N/13 (9 mm)
I tried to make it look like a real octopus -- with life-like eyes and even a funnel (sometimes called a siphon), which is a tubular opening in sandy colour on a side of the head, below the eye -- it serves as a pathway for water.
Also, there is a crochet pattern for the rock that the octopus likes to stay on.
There are 22 pages and many pictures of the process of making this octopus, so even inexperienced crocheter will find it easier than it might seem at first!
Yarns and hooks needed:
* Suggested Crochet Hooks: 9 mm, US – N/13 for the octopus;
4.25 mm – G/6 for eyes and funnel;
5 mm, US – H/8 (J/8) for the suction cups and stone (the stone is optional, it is not a part of the octopus)
- Approximately 230 yards of Super Bulky (Category 6) yarn in Main Colour plus 35 yards of Bulky (Category 5) or Super Bulky (Category 6) yarn in Contrasting Colour (for the final round of Slip Stitches)
- Approximately 75 yards of Medium (Category 4 /Worsted Weight) yarn for suction cups, like Bernat Baby Velvet Yarn
- Approximately 15-18 yards of yarn for under-belly piece – can be Super Bulky (Category 6), or Bulky (Category 5) or even Medium Weight (Category 4) in any colour: this piece is not easily seen
- For stone (optional) – approximately 60 yards of Main Colour and 10 yards Contrasting Colour of Bulky (Category 5) yarn
The work is done in rounds, without connecting stitches between the rounds, in one direction, on the Right Side of the toy.
The suction cups are made separately and attached with simple stitches.
