Realistic Rabbit
This listing is for my realistic rabbit crochet pattern. This printable PDF pattern includes detailed written and photo instructions, as well as an ad-free video tutorial.
I have a FREE version of the video tutorial of the rabbit amigurumi pattern on my YouTube channel.
This PDF pattern is for those of you who prefer a PDF version of the pattern, which can be accessed offline or printed.
LANGUAGE: English (US)
CONTENT:
- Detailed step-by-step instructions
- Photos of the process
- Ad-free video tutorial
- Photo tutorials on how to make a magic ring, invisible sc decreases, color changes in single crochet and closing small rounds.
SIZE:
The size of the rabbit depends on your yarn choice.
If you use worsted (Aran) yarn and a 3.5 mm (E) hook, your rabbit will be approximately 8 inches (20 cm) tall from ears to tail.
If you use bulky (chunky) yarn and a 5 mm (H) hook, your rabbit will be approximately 12 inches (30 cm) tall from ears to tail.
If you want it to be larger or smaller, use a different yarn weight and adjust the hook size accordingly. I explain this more in the accompanying video tutorial.
CONSTRUCTION:
The legs are crocheted on the body. The ears, head and tail are sewn on. The eyelids, nose and mouth are embroidered.
MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
For the smaller rabbit approximately 8 inches (20 cm) tall:
- Worsted (Aran or 10-ply) yarn in brown or beige and cream or white I used Scheepjes Stone Washed XL in Brown Agate and Moon Stone. Boulder Opal would be a nice shade for a lighter-colored rabbit.
- 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook
- 9 mm safety eyes
- Black embroidery floss
- Large-eyed sewing needle
For the larger rabbit approximately 12 inches (30 cm) tall:
- Bulky (chunky or 12-ply) yarn I used chunky chenille yarn: Cygnet Jellybaby in Teddy and Vanilla Milkshake.
- 5 mm (H) crochet hook
- 15 mm safety eyes
- Black 4-Ply (Fingering) yarn for the embroidery I used Scheepjes Catona
For both rabbits:
- Fiberfill
- 9 stitch markers
- Yarn needle
- Sewing pins
- Scissors
- Drop of glue (optional)
